innovision helps demonstrate UK design capability with GREAT GIC

On Thursday 17 September, innovision delivered the 5th GREAT Global Investment Conference (GIC) at London’s Lancaster House on behalf of UK Trade & Investment (UKTI).

Taking place on the eve of the Rugby World Cup, the event marked the official launch of the Rugby Business Festival, which is set to run for the duration of the tournament, until the 31 October.

As the overall event management agency, innovision was responsible for delivering multiple aspects of the experience – from the creative look & feel and environmental design, through to delegate acquisition, invitation management, technical production and logistics.

Under the theme ‘leading by design and innovation’, innovision was engaged to deliver a bold and creative GIC, showcasing how great innovation and cutting-edge design drives productivity in a bid to encourage more investment to the UK and bolster its position as number one for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Europe.

The invite-only event brought together more than 150 government leaders, investors and entrepreneurs from around the world to develop partnerships for growth. Between them, they represented nine of the UK’s target markets for overseas investment, all of which have teams competing in the RWC.

innovision produced and stage managed all facets of the event, including addresses from high-level business leaders including Simon Cowell of Syco, Sir John Sorrell, Thomas Heatherwick, Brent Hoberman of Founders Forum, Kathryn Parsons from Decoded, Jamal Edwards of SBTV and Mike McGee of Framestore. innovision also coordinated a video message from Facebook’s COO Sheryl Sandberg.

Attendees were also addressed by Prime Minister David Cameron, Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne and Trade and Investment Minster Lord Maude.

innovision was responsible for all logistical elements of the conference, including delegate acquisition, online delegate registration, onsite management and post-event communication, ensuring a seamless delegate experience.
