To mark the official Global Launch of the new all-electric FIA Formula E Championship, innovision delivered a one-off media stunt on Westminster Bridge in the heart of London and then went on to design a high-profile launch event at the famous Roundhouse.

Set against the backdrop of the iconic Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, we secured permissions to allow nine Formula E cars with a top speed of 180mph to drive across Westminster Bridge, providing fans with all the buzz and exhilaration of what a London street race may look and sound like.

This world-first leveraged the surprise, excitement and discovery of the power of electric energy, and brought to life Formula E’s core brand values: Energy, Environment and Entertainment.

Footage of the incredible scenes then formed part of Formula E’s high-profile Global Launch event at London’s Roundhouse, for which we were responsible for the creation and operational delivery. More than 500 guests – including a host of celebrities, VIPs, MPs, teams, drivers and press – turned out for the celebrations, which saw Formula E reveal a number of key announcements for the world’s first fully-electric race series.

The two events secured extensive international coverage across 160 media outlets, including Sky News, ITV and the BBC. And thanks to significant press coverage and interest from loyal motorsport fans, #FELaunch was a trending topic in the UK on Twitter on the evening of the Roundhouse celebrations.
